Literacy

With the addition of the GoPhonics Multi-Sensory reading program, Clever Minds is  equipped to teach students who are having a difficult time learning to read due to speech and language delays and/or learning disabilities.  The program walks students through 5 levels of reading through games, books, and activities.  We invested in GoPhonics for many reasons.  It has a strong correlation with the National Reading Panel’s recommendations in Put Reading First.  With the program’s strong phonics foundation, students will learn strategies to decode and encode words to better increase fluency and comprehension.  GoPhonics is also consistent with the curriculum provided in the TTUSD.  Finally, this program is regarded by Orton-Gillingham and Slingerland as one of the best tutoring tools available to teach students with dyslexia.  It is also highly recommended for students in the general education population.

“At first, I didn’t want to go to Clever Minds. I don’t like talking to people I don’t know. I showed up, met my tutor and started working. I have had a tutor help me before, but it got me nowhere. When I was at Clever Minds my grades went from bad to good almost instantly. If you are like me and hate the idea of having a tutor, you’ll have to trust me, Clever Minds is the best.”
